Benriach

BenRiach, located in the Heart of Speyside in Morayshire, was founded by John Duff in 1898. It draws water from the Burnside Springs, deep beneath the distillery. Just two years after opening, the Pattison crash of 1900 forced BenRiach to halt production, leaving its stills silent for 65 years. However, its floor maltings remained active, supplying sister distillery Longmorn, which helped preserve BenRiach’s facilities. In 1965, whisky demand surged, and BenRiach resumed operations. A turning point came in 2004 when it became independently owned by The BenRiach Distillery Company. This allowed for innovation, including the use of peated and non-peated malts and unique wood finishes. Today, BenRiach reflects its rich heritage through skilled craftsmanship and distinctive maturation techniques.
