A cornerstone of Sakurao Brewery & Distillery, Mr. Taihei Yamamoto brings over two decades of expertise and passion to the craft of spirit making. He joined the company in 1998 following his graduation from Hiroshima University, where he earned a master’s degree in science and engineering with a focus on chemistry and microbiology.
When Sakurao Distillery was established in 2017, Mr. Yamamoto transitioned seamlessly into his role as Master Distiller, applying his extensive knowledge and scientific background to the art of distillation. His commitment to excellence led him to study traditional and modern techniques across leading distilleries around the globe, deepening his understanding of spirit production and refining his craft.
Mr. Yamamoto’s vision and technical mastery have become integral to Sakurao’s identity. Under his leadership, the distillery continues to innovate while honoring the rich heritage of Japanese craftsmanship. His global perspective and dedication to quality ensure that each bottle produced under his watch reflects the highest standards of authenticity and excellence.
